The day had been long and exhausting, full of meetings and decisions, and now my parents were forcing me to get married and go on blind dates. It was ridiculous. As CEO of a major company, finding a moment to breathe was rare, so how would I manage this whole marriage thing? On top of that, my driver was sick, so I had to drive through the congested city myself-a task I despised.
The traffic was dreadful. My phone buzzed constantly with emails and messages. A quick glance at it was all it took; I didn't see the motorcycle until it was too late.
A horrible crunch echoed as my car collided with the bike. I cursed under my breath. Already my day was going terribly, and now this was the cherry on top.
I saw a young man approaching, his face full of anger. He knocked on the glass, clearly upset.
Come out, miss, he demanded, trying to keep his voice steady.
I stepped out, exuding confidence and authority. Apologies were not on my agenda; I didn't have time for pointless conversations.
Miss, you should apologize for the damage you've caused, he said, barely hiding his irritation.
I met his gaze with a cold stare. Did he even know who he was dealing with? Clearly not. I took a step closer, ensuring he felt my presence.
Do you even know who you are talking to? I asked, my voice cold and firm.
Does it matter who you are? You crashed into my bike and didn't even apologize. He said crossing my arms.
I sighed inwardly. This was a waste of time. Without a word, I reached into my purse, pulled out my checkbook, and wrote an amount that would more than cover the damage. I handed it to him, my expression impassive.
Recover your loss. Money is better than an apology, I said coolly, meeting his eyes with a steady gaze.
Pardon? he said, disbelief and anger flashing across his face.
I said recover your loss. Money is better than a useless apology, I repeated, my tone unyielding.
Unbelievable, he scoffed.
I watched as he stared at the check, his anger growing. Without warning, he marched over to my car and smashed his fist into the headlight, shattering it. He then placed the check on my windshield and leaned in close.
Suit yourself, egotistical woman, he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm, a smirk on his lips.
Surprise and anger flared within me, but I kept my composure. Finally noticing the murmurs around me, I realized a crowd had witnessed the whole incident. It wouldn't take long for this to blow up.
Straightening my posture, I called for another car to take me to the office
----
Here comes our egoistic woman, he said, laughing and clapping as I approached.
I stopped in my tracks, my eyes narrowing at him. Shut the f*# up, I retorted, my gaze piercing.
Gosh, the audacity that man had to say that to you. He's my hero from today onwards, he said, laughing.
So the video is already viral? I'll sue him! I said, settling into my chair.
Take down the video from every single platform. Tell the technical team to handle this. I have a deal to crack tomorrow, and if anything happens because of this, I'll make sure that man will regret being alive, I said with an authoritative tone.
I'm not your PA, miss, he replied, crossing his arms.
Then inform my PA, and you should go to your company, I said.
Sure thing, Black Cat, he said with a casual shrug as he walked out of the office.
Wait! I called out.
He turned around, eyebrows raised in curiosity. Now what?
Did you know that my parents were setting up blind dates for me? I asked, adjusting my spectacles and staring at him intently.
I did-uh, not, he answered hesitantly.
I narrowed my eyes, clearly unimpressed. So you did know. I waved my hand dismissively. Just go.
I sighed deeply, thinking about the building I needed. Doing the work, I didn't realize it was already past evening. I also needed to attend that freaking date they arranged for me. Marriage isn't my priority right now.
Still I need to go through this shit
Reaching the venue, I entered and messaged him to ask where he was. He waved his hand so I could see him. I approached the table and stood there for a whole damn minute because a man should pull out the chair and ask the woman to sit.
But this person must have been illiterate, I guess.
Aren't you gonna sit, he asked, looking at me. I scoffed and said, of course, I'll sit, sir. Taking a seat, I asked him to introduce himself, and he started yapping non-stop for a freaking hour. We didn't even order anything. Gosh, did mom and dad not see his personality? No way am I gonna approve this shit or this shitty man.
You know what, I'm not hungry, so let's conclude this meeting, I mean date. Ah sure, let's go. I'll drop you and talk to your parents about our marriage, he said, smiling like a dumb freak.
Marriage? I asked, shocked
Yes, marriage I like you he said, holding my hand on the table.
Let's just get out of here, I said, snatching my hand away from him.
Outside, he got in the car and told me to get in. I refused until he opened the car door for me. You need to open the car door for me, I announced
Why? Don't you have hands? he said, looking at me.
The audacity this moron had to say this. I stood there He opened the door from the inside. Like wow, what did I even expect from a person like him?
You know what, you can rot in hell for all I care. I am a woman with standards, and you treating me like this makes my blood boil to the point of burying you six feet down alive so that you could suffocate to death. So piss off, you dumbass I said, slamming the car door as hard as I could.
I walked to my car and my driver opened the door for me like see it isn't hard at all , such a freak
After returning home, I ordered some food and ate quietly. I had absolutely no energy to move, not even an inch. I flopped onto my bed and wrapped myself tightly in a blanket like a burrito.
Suddenly, I felt disoriented. Where was I? I could hear faint voices, but everything around me was pitch black. I tried to move, but it felt like I was tied down. I was in that same place-the place I hated the most, the moment I wanted to forget forever.
Then, everything around me burst into flames. I couldn't breathe; my vision blurred. The fire closed in on me, the heat becoming unbearable with every passing second. I felt like I was burning alive, unable to move as the flames engulfed me. My hair caught fire, and I was screaming and sobbing, but no one heard me.
Suddenly, I jolted awake. I couldn't catch my breath; I was drenched in sweat.
Water, I need water I gasped, my voice shaky.
I took deep breaths, trying to calm myself down.
It's okay, Noor. You're okay. There's no fire here. Everything's fine I reassured myself, though my heart was still racing.
